Individual actions to reduce single-use trash, while positive, are not enough to stem the plastic tide. That’s why we invite you to join Clean Water Action in taking on plastic on a larger scale this Plastic Free July and beyond!
Clean Water Action commends the work being done to ensure the Act’s success. It is imperative, though, to prevent loopholes that enable the plastics industry to continue to pollute our health and environment unnecessarily.
Rather than waste money on expensive, polluting facilities, Rhode Island should pursue strategies that reduce the amount of plastic consumed and produced in the first place.
Thanks to support from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and Plastic Free Restaurants, a new waste reduction program called ReThink Disposable has made its way to Philadelphia and is playing a new and essential part in helping reduce trash and litter in the city.
