Dirty details about New Jersey: 

• Most highway dense state in the country - that means a heck of a lot of diesel trucks spewing toxic, deadly pollution into our communities
• Home to the biggest Port-Port of Newark- with about 20,000 trucks rumbling through port communities every day.
• More than 3,000 warehouses generate about 400,000 daily diesel truck trips, impacting the nearly 3 million residents who live within ½ mile of these sites.
• Port communities in Union & Essex counties, 1 in 4 children have asthma, and is the #1 reason for school absenteeism. 

Diesel pollution is killing us.

New Jersey desperately needs clean air policies that protect our communities; state leaders must stand up.

• Clean air to breathe
• Good jobs with health and safety protections and a voice for workers
• Dirty industries pay for the pollution they create
• Strong clean air policy from state leaders  
• Make NJ  a leader in medium/heavy duty truck electrification
• Commitment towards a warehouse moratorium in NJ 

NJ needs a cleaner fleet to reduce harmful emissions, reduce long term health care costs in our communities as quickly as possible. Clean Water Action is a lead advocate of Indirect Source Review legislation or regulation that would move ports and warehouses towards zero emissions faster.
