EDISON, NJ--On July 8, 2025, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents conducted a raid at Alba Wine & Spirits warehouse in Edison, New Jersey. According to workers and advocacy groups, ICE agents arrived around 9 AM and surrounded the warehouse, sparking fear and confusion.
Tolani Taylor, Zero Emissions & Warehouse Organizer for Clean Water Action, issued the following statement in response to the raid:
“As a former warehouse worker myself, the recent ICE raids at an Edison, NJ warehouse targeting workers, was really disheartening and extremely unfair for all that were traumatized from such an experience.
Clean Water Action stands in solidarity with our partners at New Labor and Make the Road NJ against these unnecessary attacks against hardworking people that simply are just trying to put food on the table for their families.
Without warehouse and logistics workers, our freight and goods movement, industries, businesses and economy would grind to a halt. They serve as the lifelines of NJ’s ports and warehouses, fulfilling orders for delivery everyday. They should be treated with dignity, respect and afforded their right to work in a safe, equitable and clean environment.”
