Clean Water Action is proud to announce our endorsement of Corey O’Connor for Mayor of Pittsburgh in the Tuesday, November 4th general election!

Corey has a history of public service. He currently serves as the Allegheny County Controller. In this capacity he audited the Allegheny County Health Department’s Clean Air Fund to ensure transparency and accountability for how the County distributes these funds and that they’re being better directed toward projects designed to improve air quality and public health.

Corey was also a member of Pittsburgh City Council. During this time, he sponsored a forum and council resolution seeking to improve air quality.

As our next mayor, Corey will make climate and environmental investments a priority. That includes initiatives like:

  • Reviving the City’s Climate Action Plan which hasn’t been updated since 2018
  • Properly investing in stormwater management and landslide remediation to create a more resilient city
  • Investing heavily in solar and battery backup to offset energy use costs
  • Properly funding and completing the LED streetlight conversion project
