Massachusetts Energy Efficiency Outreach Specialist

Shay serves as the South Coast Energy Efficiency Outreach Specialist in Taunton and Attleboro, bringing a strong Environmental Justice lens and deep commitment to the communities she supports. Her work focuses on making access to the Mass Save Programs more equitable so that residents in environmental justice communities can fully explore cost-saving measures and create healthier homes.

She is intentional in building trust through partnerships with neighbors, grassroots leaders, and community organizations who know best how to engage their own communities. Her current projects include co-hosting community workshops that provide interactive presentations on energy efficiency programs, supporting local events where residents can ask questions and learn about resources, and creating digital content for city partners and grassroots groups to share. She also works closely with local non-profits and city officials to ensure that community voices—especially those in underserved neighborhoods—are heard by decision-makers.

Shay’s passion for Environmental Justice is personal. While earning her Associate’s in Liberal Arts: Behavioral & Social Science, a sustainability course revealed the environmental inequities affecting her community and inspired her to act. Today, she focuses on expanding access to the Mass Save Programs, amplifying underrepresented voices, and advancing a just climate future where all communities can share in the financial and environmental benefits of energy efficiency and clean energy technology.
