Climate Justice Organizer

Emma joined Clean Water Action in fall 2023 and stepped into the role of Climate Justice Organizer in the Boston office in winter 2024. In this role, she focuses on advancing equitable climate solutions that prioritize frontline communities.

Before joining Clean Water Action, Emma worked at the intersection of climate and labor, where she developed a strong commitment to protecting workers' rights while advocating for a just transition to a renewable energy economy. While living in New London, Connecticut, she worked at the Connecticut Roundtable on Climate and Jobs on the campaign for the Carbon-Free and Healthy Schools Act, integrating environmental policy with public health and labor priorities.

Before she began working in environmental policy and advocacy, Emma worked in the sustainable agriculture and conservation space where she focused on traditional ecological knowledge, language access, and community autonomy

She earned her B.A. in Environmental Studies from Connecticut College, with a concentration in Social Justice and Sustainability. Her academic background includes research on traditional ecological knowledge and environmental economics

A lifelong Massachusetts resident, Emma is passionate about centering the needs of vulnerable communities in climate action and leveraging regional clean energy opportunities—particularly the promise of offshore wind.

Outside of work, Emma is an outdoor sports enthusiast who loves skiing, hiking, and camping as well as reading, traveling, and trying new foods. Originally from Newburyport, she currently resides in Boston.
